News Benanti and Creel Team Up for August Concert Into the Woods' Laura Benanti and Thoroughly Modern Millie's Gavin Creel will join forces for two concerts at Joe's Pub next month.

On Aug. 9 the Tony-nominated stars will perform an evening that features many of their own compositions. Part of the "Front and Center" concert series, the 7 and 9:30 PM performances will be directed by Jamie McGonnigal.

The concert series is a monthly event that presents new and familiar theatre performers in a cabaret setting.

Laura Benanti most recently portrayed Claudia in the Tony-winning revival of Maury Yeston’s Nine. She received Tony Award nominations for her performances in Swing! and the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. She was also seen in The Sound of Music, Time and Again and the City Center Encores! mounting of Wonderful Town. Benanti’s regional credits include roles in Man of La Mancha and A Winter’s Tale.

Gavin Creel portrayed Hollis Bessemer in Sondheim and John Weidman's Bounce. He starred as Jimmy in the Tony-winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and was also seen in the City Center Encores! mounting of Hair and the Off-Broadway production of Bat Boy. His other theatrical credits include Honk!, Fame and the workshops of Spring Awakening, Hairspray and Wicked. Creel was also recently seen in the TV film "Eloise at the Plaza."
