Millburn, New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse will present five musicals—including two world premieres—in its upcoming 2018–2019 season. As previously announced, the lineup begins with the world premiere of the Andrew Lloyd Webber celebration Unmasked.

The musical revue, directed by John Doyle, will run September 27–October 28. Holiday Inn, the Irving Berlin musical based on the film of the same name, will follow November 21–December 30. The production, directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Denis Jones, played a limited run on Broadway in 2016.

The world premiere of My Very Own British Invasion, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, will begin January 31, 2019. The show, featuring a book by Rick Elice, weaves songs from the British music revolution of the ‘60s (The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Petula Clark) to tell a love story inspired by the early experiences of Herman’s Hermits’ Peter Noone. Performances will run through March 3.

Following a world premiere at San Diego’s Old Globe, the musical adaptation of Benny & Joon heads to the New Jersey theatre for its East Coast debut April 4–May 5. The show features music by Nolan Gasser, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, and a book by Kirsten Guenther. Jack Cummings III and Scott Rink direct and choreograph, respectively.

The season concludes May 29–June 30 with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee will helm the Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice musical, which will feature choreography by Jones.

Casting for the each show will be announced at a later date.
