News Berenstain Bears LIVE! Will Transfer to Off-Broadway's Marjorie S. Deane for Open-Ended Run The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical, presented by Matt Murphy, will transfer to Off-Broadway's Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, which previously housed Freud's Last Session, for an open-ended run beginning Nov. 5.

The previously extended production will finish its run at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (248 West 60 Street) Oct. 30. The Berenstain Bears, directed and choreographed by Devanand Janki, opened June 25 and was originally scheduled through Sept. 4.

The musical features an original score by Michael Borton and a book by Borton and Michael Slade.

The current cast includes William Bailey, Danielle Defassio, Laurie Geigel, Alex Goley, Jill Kurzner, Rori Nogee, Ryan Scarlata and Ben Thorpe.

Adapted from the classic children’s books by Stan and Jan Berenstain, The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical, press notes state, "brings everyone’s favorite bear family to musical life. As always, Bear Country is not without its complications: Papa Bear can’t stop eating junk food, Brother Bear’s grades are slipping, and Sister Bear still has a lot to learn about talking to strangers. Thankfully, we can always depend on Mama Bear and her loving patience to help set things right."
