The eleven site-specific works were penned by a varied group of playwrights, including Edward Albee, Nilo Cruz, Polly Pen, Dael Orlandersmith, Joyce Carol Oates and Eric Bogosian. Ethan McSweeny and Tim Vasen will direct the plays, which run 1 PM-4 PM. In a statement McCarter's literary director, Liz Engelman, said, "The playwrights in the festival are all members of the McCarter artistic family, whose sense of humor and theatricality make them the perfect match for this artistic celebration of all the drama that happens on, off, around and beyond the stage itself."

Nilo Cruz, who will soon be represented on Broadway by his Pulitzer Prize winning opus Anna in the Tropics, will offer Capricho/Caprice. Felix Solis, a member of the LAByrinth Theater Company, will perform the Cruz work. New York Times drama critic Bruce Weber will move from the page to the stage when he lends his voice to Edward Albee's Knock! Knock! Who's There?! Other performers taking part in the three-hour event include Emily Loesser, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Karen Kandel, Christopher Murney, Vivian Benesch, Tom Story and Bruce Norris.
