Alain Platel and Arne Sieren's acclaimed dance and musical extravaganza Bernadetje finally makes it to Rome. The award-winning show, produced by Belgium's Victoria company, will play at the Eternal City's Teatro Il Vascello May 21-23, a special event in the programme of "Le Vie dei Festival", the international festival that traditionally takes place in Rome every autumn.
Set in an amusement park, with a full-scale, functioning bumper-car platform on stage, with the actors-dancers moving around in electrically propelled bumper-cars, the show is mixture of dance, drama and circus, portraying the ethnic and cultural melting pot that marks the suburbs of every great European city.
Director and choreographer Alain Platel, who created the show together with author Arne Sierens, is quickly imposing himself as one of the great masters of contemporary European theatre. For Bernadetje he received the prestigious Podium Oce Award.
Further information on Bernadetje is available calling the Associazione Culturale Cadmo at +39 6 320.21.02.
