News Bernadette Peters and Canine Friends to Appear on "Regis"; Shubert Alley Book Signing, Too Two-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters, who will return to Broadway later this summer in the Kennedy Center's critically acclaimed production of Follies, will make an appearance on the July 6 broadcast of "Live with Regis & Kelly."

The singing actress will be joined by five adoptable dogs from city shelters. "Live with Regis & Kelly" is executive-produced by Michael Gelman and is distributed by Disney/ABC Domestic Television. The program airs in the New York metropolitan area on WABC Channel 7 at 9 AM ET; check local listings. On July 9 at noon Peters will autograph her latest children’s book, "Stella Is A Star," in Shubert Alley (between 44th and 45th Streets and between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book benefits Broadway Barks, the charity co-created by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, and goes towards saving the lives of animals in shelters and raising awareness about adoption.

As previously reported, Broadway Barks! 13, the annual adopt-a-thon featuring a host of celebrity presenters, will be held July 9 from 3:30-6:30 PM in Shubert Alley.

Prior to A Little Night Music, Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. Peters' newest live recording, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.—Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It)," is available on the Angel Records label. Masterworks Broadway has also released a "Legends of Broadway" CD celebrating her theatrical career. Peters' screen credits are numerous, and she also recently celebrated the launch of her second children's book, "Stella Is a Star," for Blue Apple Books.
