News Bernadette Peters Lands TV Pilot Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, most recently on Broadway in the Sam Mendes-directed revival of Gypsy, has been cast in a pilot for ABC-TV.

Variety reports that Peters will be part of the cast of "Adopted," a new sitcom for the ABC Network produced by Twentieth Century Fox TV. The program, according to the industry paper, "revolves around a grown man who discovers he has two very different mothers." Peters will play one of the mothers, Mrs. Leaf. Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Momma Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods.

Peters is also in the midst of a concert tour. Remaining dates follow:
