The Washington, DC, engagement — which runs through Sept. 28 — is the first stop of a worldwide tour for Bernhard, whose career was launched by this show in 1988. Performances will take place in the Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater at the Washington DCJCC. Without You I'm Nothing is described in press notes as "an electrifying fusion of lethal satire, sly cabaret and sizzling rock 'n' roll [and features] Sandra's brilliant diatribes on the state of modern culture." Bernhard will be backed by her band, The Rebellious Jezebels.
Sandra Bernhard appeared on Broadway in her 1998 one-woman hit I'm Still Here . . . Damn It! after playing five months at Off-Broadway's Westbeth Theatre. On screen she has been seen in "The King of Comedy," "Inside Monkey Zetterland," "Hudson Hawk," "Dinner Rush," "Roseanne," "Ally McBeal," "Chicago Hope" and "Will & Grace." She hosted her own talk show, "The Sandra Bernhard Experience," and has been seen in Showtime's "The L Word." Her books are entitled "Confessions of a Pretty Lady," "Love, Love, and Love" and "May I Kiss You on the Lips, Miss Sandra?"
