News Berry, Moses, Ragusa and Hilsabeck Will Headline Guys and Dolls in San Jose American Musical Theatre of San Jose has announced a host of Broadway performers for its upcoming fall production of Frank Loesser's classic gambler musical Guys and Dolls.

Set to star are Sarah Uriarte Berry (The Light in the Piazza, Beauty and the Beast) as Sarah Brown, Burke Moses (Beauty and the Beast; Kiss Me, Kate) as Sky Masterson, Michele Ragusa (Urinetown, A Class Act) as Miss Adelaide and Rick Hilsabeck (Bounce, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Nathan Detroit.

Rounding out the Guys and Dolls will be Roland Rusinek (Nicely Nicely Johnson), Noel Anthony (Benny Southstreet), Nathan Armstrong, Lindsey Bracco, Anne Buelteman (General Matilda B. Cartwright), Joven Calloway, Jeremiah B. Clauss, Joshua Ekblom, Sean Grady, Rob Hatzenbeller (Harry the Horse), Matthew Brandon Hutchens, Erica Rose Jeffrey, Travis Kelley, Dirk Leatherman (Lt. Brannigan), Garrick Goce Macatangay, Melody McArtor, Melinda Meeng, Randy Nazarian (Big Jule), Brittany Ogle, Keith Parks, Stephen Pawley (Arvide Abernathy), Allison Poccia, Donna Rapa-Olsen, Melissa Reinard and Colin Thomson (Rusty Charlie).

Broadway veteran Stephen Bourneuf will direct with choreography by Vince Pesce. Bourneuf and Pesce previously collaborated on "Tracey Ullman: Live and Exposed" for HBO, as well as the American Musical Theatre of San Jose's productions of West Side Story starring Diana DeGarmo and The King and I starring Debby Boone.

The creative team will feature scenic design by Tony Award winner Tony Walton, costume design by Tommy Marquez, lighting design by Karen Spahn, hair and make-up design by Sharon Ridge and sound design by Hage Van Dijk. William Liberatore will musical direct the production.

Guys and Dolls, based on the characters of Damon Runyon, features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser with a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. The original Broadway production, starring Robert Alda, Isabel Bigley, Sam Levene and Vivian Blaine, won five Tony Awards and ran for 1,200 performances. Blaine would re-create her role of Miss Adelaide for the film version alongside Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons. The highly successful 1992 Broadway revival starred Nathan Lane, Faith Prince, Peter Gallagher and Josie de Guzman, running 1,143 performances.
