News Bess Wohl's Acclaimed Small Mouth Sounds Extends Off-Broadway Ars Nova has announced a two-week extension for its acclaimed world-premiere production of Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl (American Hero), helmed by OBIE Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin.

The play officially opened March 23 Off-Broadway and will now continue through April 25. Performances were originally set to conclude April 11.

The cast features Sakina Jaffrey (White House Chief of Staff Linda Vasquez on "House of Cards"), Jessica Almasy (A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes), Marcia DeBonis (“Homeland”), OBIE Award winner Jojo Gonzalez (The Romance of Magno Rubio), Brad Heberlee (This Beautiful City), Erik Lochtefeld (Metamorphoses) and Babak Tafti (The North Pool).

Wohl's Small Mouth Sounds places six runaways from city life on a silent retreat. According to Ars Nova, "As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, this strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life's biggest questions when words fail us."

The production features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Mike Inwood, sound design by Stowe Nelson, projection design by Andrew Schneider and prop design by Noah Mease.

Ars Nova is located at 511 West 54th St., New York. Tickets are available by visiting arsnovanyc.com or calling (212) 352-3101.
