The musical — inspired by the poetry of Carl Sandburg — will be presented at the York Nov. 12 at 8 PM, Nov. 18 at 8 PM, Nov. 19 at 2 and 8 PM and Nov. 20 at 2 PM. The cast will include Mimi Bessette, Daniel Bogart, Heath Calvert, Jessica Cope, Tim Ewing, Todd A. Horman, Kelly Sullivan and Anne Torsiglieri. Victoria Bussert will direct with musical direction by August Eriksmoen and choreography by Janet Watson. Dust and Dreams features concept and lyrics by Dave Hudson and music by Paul Libman. The musical, according to press notes, "is a celebration of the land, the lives, and the love the prairie continually inspires . . . . it is a mix of poetry, musical revue, and song cycle. The poems are integrated into the musical, with the cast performing songs inspired by Sandburg's lyrical yet plainspoken language. The music runs the gamut from folk to jazz."
