News   Best of the Fest: Line-Up for 2nd Annual NYCFringe Encore Series Announced For those who didn't catch the nearly 200 shows the New York International Fringe Festival offered within the past two weeks — or for those who were waiting to see what theatrical cream would rise to the top — the FringeNYC Encore Series will give theatre lovers another chance to take in some of the best offerings the 10th annual festival had to offer.

Due to the brevity of the Fringe Festival, as soon as word of mouth begins to spread about an audience favorite or critical success, many of the productions have concluded their runs.

Presented independently of the Fringe Festival, though the name is used by permission, producer Britt Lafield has gathered the assembled talent for the second annual FringeNYC Encores Series in order to allow favorites from the Fringe to reach a broader audience.

Two downtown venues, the Soho Playhouse and The Bleecker Street Theater, will play host to the Encore Series beginning Aug. 30 and continuing through Sept. 16.
