At 8:26 PM ET, Liza Minnelli presented the Best Original Score Award to Maury Yeston for his work in Titanic.

Here is Mr. Yeston's bio:

MAURY YESTON (Music and Lyrics) won the Tony Award and two Drama Desk Awards for his music and lyrics to B'way's Nine which won five Tonys including Best Musical and was nominated for a Grammy and for an Olivier Award in London. His work in B'way's Grand Hotel was also nominated for a Tony and two Drama Desk Awards. Mr. Yeston's lyrics and music cover a variety of styles. His Cello Concerto was premiered by Yo Yo Ma while his album, Goya-A Life In Song featured Placido Domingo and Gloria Estefan and included the song "Till I Loved You"-a top 40 Barbra Streisand hit. He wrote the classical crossover December Songs (released on RCA records) commissioned by Carnegie Hall for its centennial celebration, and his score to Phantom, with a book by Arthur Kopit, has received national and international acclaim. The music was recorded by RCA which also has released the London Concert version of Nine starring Jonathan Pryce and Elaine Paige. He was educated at Yale and Clare College, Cambridge and holds BA and MA degrees from both institutions and a PhD from Yale. He was a member of the Yale faculty for eight years, where he was Director of Undergraduate Studies in Music.
