Irish Repertory Theatre is set to kick off the 12th season of its New Works Reading Series with a staged reading of Darren Donohue’s play Dual Cats With One Crayfish October 20.

The cast will be made up of Rajesh Bose (Indian Ink, Disgraced), Tony nominee Beth Fowler (The Boy from Oz, Earnest in Love), and Meg Gibson (The Gabriels – Election Year in the Life of One Family, Talking About Race).

The reading will take place at 3 PM at Irish Rep Theatre on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage. Irish Rep’s literary manager, Kara Manning, directs.

In Dual Cats With One Crayfish, a woman is expelled from her local bowling club for “behavior unbecoming of a club member.” The incident pitches her against Ranjiv Sibal, an Indian doctor determined to preserve his family’s good name.

“[The play] paints a portrait of modern Ireland that is rich in dark humor investigating themes of spirituality, identity and forgiveness,“ read production notes.

Tickets to the reading are free and open to the public. Seating is limited; RSVP through Irish Rep’s box office by calling (212) 727-2737.
