News   Beyoncé and Jay Z Are Surprise Guests at Broadway's Hamilton Grammy Award-winning music powerhouses Beyoncé Knowles and Jay Z are the latest stars to see the hit Broadway sensation Hamilton. The couple were in the audience for the Oct. 21 evening performance and posed with the cast following the show.

Javier Muñoz, who alternates in the musical's starring role with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, tweeted a photo of himself standing with the couple following the performance. 

 

 

A representative for the musical told Playbill.com that the celebrity couple bought tickets for the production on their own. "We didn't know until very late that they were coming," he said. Beyoncé and Jay Z specified that they wanted to go back stage and meet with the cast following the performance.

The Daily News reported that Atlantic Records, which released show's cast album Sept. 25, has been pursing an EP of singles from the show that would feature hip-hop, pop and rap stars.

Numerous Hamilton cast members snapped candids of the star couple.

 

Knowles starred in the film adaptation of Dreamgirls and is reportedly in talks to star in a remake of the musical film "A Star Is Born."

Hamilton has been a magnet for high-profile celebrities and dignitaries. President Obama is set to make his second trip to the musical in November for a Democratic fundraiser.
