CHICAGO--Last year the Big Apple Circus played the parking lot outside Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears. This summer they're literally out of town. For this second annual appearance, which begins June 6, the venue is the Arlington International, a former racetrack in suburban Arlington Heights that's now given up to more diverse pleasures. Celebrating 20 years of circus thrills, New York's one-ring extravaganza will perform in an intimate 1,700-seat state-of-the-art big top tent where, we're assured, no one will sit more than 50 feet from the ring. -- By Lawrence Bommer
