"Big Brother" Star Marco Sabba to Be Part of London's Little By Little

News   "Big Brother" Star Marco Sabba to Be Part of London's Little By Little A contestant from the U.K. version of “Big Brother” will turn to the stage when trainee lawyer Marco Sabba appears in Little By Little at London’s Arts Theatre.

Sabba, who on the show described himself as “the biggest bitch on the planet,” was among the more flamboyant contestants, with antics including nudity and food fighting. At the Arts, he will appear in the small role of a camp waiter, and will also give out condoms at the end of the show, which is sponsored by contraceptive makers.

The production marks the European premiere for the well-received Off Broadway musical Little By Little, but it’s only getting three performances on July 25, August 8 and 22. The show will star Paul Spicer, Julie Atherton and Christine Holman. It’s produced by Neil Eckersley, who has made something of a specialty of bringing unknown American show tunes to the city, with his Notes From New York concert series.

Little By Little explores the boundaries between friendship and love, as three young adults discover their own feelings for each other. The show has music by Brad Ross, lyrics by Ellen Greenfield and Hal Hackady and a book by Greenfield and Annette Jolles. It premiered as a 1991 staged concert at the York Theatre Company in New York. Later, after rewriting and development, it reappeared at Miami's Coconut Grove Playhouse, returning as a fully staged show to the York Theatre Company in 1999.

Spicer has previously appeared on the London stage in The Witches of Eastwick, Fame and Taboo. He’s currently dancing his way around the U.K. in Saturday Night Fever. Atherton is starring in the musical Just So at the summer 2004 Chichester Festival, while Little By Little is Holman’s West End debut. Benjamin Till directs, with musical direction by David Randall and sound design by Marcus Wadland.
