Armstrong, the show's co-author and lyricist, who penned the music with Green Day, plays St. Jimmy — a dark force who fuels the passions of one of the main characters, Johnny, also known as Jesus of Suburbia.

Following 421 performances on Broadway and 27 previews, the final show is April 24 at 7:30 PM. The first national tour launches in the fall. Open auditions for the tour have been ongoing.

The final cast of the musical includes David Larsen (Billy Elliot) as Tunny; Joshua Henry (The Scottsboro Boys) as Favorite Son; Van Hughes as Johnny; Justin Guarini as Will; Rebecca Naomi Jones as Whatsername; Libby Winters as The Extraordinary Girl; and Jeanna de Waal as Heather, with Krystina Alabado, Declan Bennett, Jennifer Bowles, Andrew Call, Gerard Canonico, Miguel Cervantes, Brian Charles Johnson, Jason Kappus, Lorin Latarro, Omar Lopez-Cepero, Leslie McDonel, Sean Michael Murray, Chase Peacock, Ben Thompson, Alysha Umphress and Mikey Winslow.

American Idiot began preview performances on March 24, 2010, and opened on Broadway to solid reviews on April 20, 2010, following its world-premiere, twice-extended limited engagement at Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Roda Theatre in California.

Based on Green Day's groundbreaking rock opera album, "American Idiot," the 90-minute show about three suburban pals who take divergent paths in post-9/11 America, is a collaboration of Green Day and the Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (who co-wrote the book), Tony Award-winning orchestrator Tom Kitt and Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett. The musical was nominated for the 2010 Tony as Best Musical, and won two Tonys for its scenic and lighting design. The show also won the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, plus a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award.

The performance schedule for American Idiot is Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday 8 PM, Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.

Tickets range from $147-$49 and can be purchased at The St. James Box Office or via telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200. Visit www.AmericanIdiotonBroadway.com.
