News Billy Elliot Will Celebrate 1,000 Performances on Broadway April 8 The ten-time Tony Award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical will celebrate 1,000 performances on Broadway April 8 at 7:30 PM at the Imperial Theatre.

The cast is currently headed by Jacob Clemente, Joseph Harrington, Alex Ko and Peter Mazurowski, who rotate in the title role, with Emily Skinner as Mrs. Wilkinson, Gregory Jbara as Dad, Carole Shelley as Grandma, Will Chase as Tony and Cameron Clifford and Neil McCaffrey as Michael.

The show is presented by Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment, based on the Universal Pictures/Studio Canal film.

Billy Elliot the Musical, according to press notes, is the "joyous celebration of one boy’s journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that inspires his family and his whole community and changes his life forever."

The musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.
