Cabaret & Concert News Billy Porter to Salute Richard Rodgers at Grammy Museum The May 15 concert and interview will take place in Los Angeles.

Billy Porter, named Best Actor in a Musical by the Tony Awards for his performance in Kinky Boots, will perform numbers from his newly released CD, Billy Porter Presents the Soul of Richard Rodgers, May 5 at the at the Clive Davis Theater at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

Presented by American Express, the evening will include Porter performing numbers from the album, and a discussion hosted by Grammy Museum Executive Director Scott Goldman on Porter’s career.

A limited number of tickets are being offered at Grammymuseum.org.

Porter’s Broadway career has included original productions of Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and the recent Shuffle Along. He originated the role of Lola in Kinky Boots, which won him 2013 Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The original cast album won the Grammy Award as well.
