Based on Harris’ book "HAM: Slices of a Life" (a collection of stories and essays published by Simon & Schuster), opening night is scheduled for Jan. 12.
Tony winner Billy Porter directs with musical direction by Todd Schroeder.
In HAM: A Musical Memoir, Harris, according to press notes, "hilariously, passionately, and poignantly brings his critically acclaimed book to the stage in a musical memoir based on his colorful life, from Bible-Belt Oklahoma to show biz to fatherhood and everything in between."
HAM is produced by Susan Dietz and Elaine Krause. Performances will continue through Jan. 24.
