News Bistro Awards, Honoring Stritch and Gaynor, Presented April 13 A host of theatre actors — including Tovah Feldshuh, Elaine Stritch, Cheyenne Jackson and Liz Callaway — will be honored at the 25th Annual Bistro Awards, which honor excellence in the cabaret community, April 13 at Gotham Comedy Club in Manhattan.

The 6:30 PM event honors Mitzi Gaynor and Elaine Stritch; Gaynor will receive the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award, and Tony and Emmy winner Stritch will be presented with the Extraordinary Cabaret Artist Award.

Eric Michael Gillett directs the awards ceremony, which is hosted by producer Sherry Eaker and features performances from most of the Bistro-winning artists. Klea Blackhurst, comic Jim David and actress-comedienne Marilyn Sokol are guest presenters.

To celebrate its silver anniversary, the Bistro Awards is honoring three individuals for their 25-plus years of artistic accomplishments: actress-singer Tovah Feldshuh, musical director, arranger and conductor Paul Trueblood, and singer-pianist-songwriter Ronny Whyte.

The Bistro Awards Committee comprises Elizabeth Ahlfors (Cabaret Scenes, CurtainUp.com, and BistroAwards.com), David Finkle (Village Voice, HuffingtonPost.com and BistroAwards.com), Rob Lester (Cabaret Scenes, NiteLifeExchange.com), Erv Raible, (executive/artistic director of the Cabaret Conference at Yale University), Roy Sander (BistroAwards.com) and Sherry Eaker (formerly the Editor in Chief of Back Stage).
