News Blackbird Sings Via Edge Theatre Company Off-Broadway, March 31 The Edge Theatre Company, which in 2003 gave playwright Adam Rapp his biggest critical hit to date with its production of Stone Cold Dead Serious, will return this spring with another Rapp play, Blackbird, and an Ann Marie Healy play, Now That's What I Call a Storm.

Both works will play at the Blue Heron Arts Center, though in separate spaces. Blackbird will begin performances March 31 for an opening on April 15, while Storm begins on April 12 and open April 26. Adam Rapp will direct his own work, which is set on Christmas Eve in a dirty squat on Manhattan's Canal Street. There, a Desert Storm veteran and a 19-year-old runaway heroine addict spend the holiday. Mandy Siegfried and Paul Sparks star. Sparks' career took off at the Blue Heron, after he received a Drama Desk nomination for his work in the unheralded Coyote on a Fence.

Carolyn Cantor (an Edge founder with David Korins) will direct the Healy work. In it, the Hannahams, a Midwestern family, suddenly discover they harbor a terrifying secret and their lives are not going to turn out as they had expected—all while a blizzard rages outside. The six-person cast features Daniel Ahearn, Marylouise Burke (Wintertime, Fuddy Meers), Guy Boyd (Four Beers, Stone Cold Dead Serious), Rebecca Nelson, Ted Schneider and Daniel Talbott.

Tickets are $40. Call (212) 868-4444.
