Vineyard Theatre is located at 108 E. 15 St., near Union Square. A blackout occurred below 38th Street starting the night of Oct. 29.
The production's new opening date will be announced along with the resumption of performances.
Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell, The Vineyard's executive producer, said in a statement, "Along with countless other New Yorkers, we are assessing the aftermath of the storm and working with colleagues in the neighborhood to determine when power will be restored and when performances can resume on our stage. We appreciate everyone's resilience and understanding under these exceptional circumstances."
Checkers, a new play by Douglas McGrath about Richard and Pat Nixon and his landmark "Checkers" speech in 1952, is directed by Terry Kinney. The cast includes Kelly Coffield Park, Kathryn Erbe, Joel Marsh Garland, Anthony LaPaglia, Kevin O'Rourke, John Ottovino, Mark Shanahan, Lewis J. Stadlen and Robert Stanton.
