Jesus' Kid Brother will feature Eric Anderson, Jimmy Ray Bennett, Danny Bernardy, Randy Blair, Kevin Duda, Gwen Hollander, Jeffrey Landman, Nicole Lewis, Erin Maguire, Marla Mindelle, Jason Michael Snow, Katherine Von Till and Michael Zahler. The show's book, music and lyrics are by Brian and Mark Karmelich. Connor Gallagher will direct the reading with Brian Murphy acting as musical director.
The show depicts Larry, Jesus' kid brother, who has "an inferiority complex of Biblical proportions" and sets out to find himself with the help of his best friend, Barrabas, and the unlikely love of Pontius Pilate's daughter. "This hilarious behind-the-scenes look at the New Testament features singing Jews, dancing lepers, menacing Romans, giddy disciple groupies and an outrageous climax where Larry finally confronts his insecurities," according to press notes.
The Age of Innocence will boast the talents of J. B. Adams, Raissa Katona Bennett, Kerry Conte, Jack Doyle, George Dvorsky, Kelly Francis, Michael Halling, Nancy Johnston, Jeanne Lehman, Georga Osborne, Spencer Plachy, Bart Shatto, Melanie Vaughn and Lynne Wintersteller. The reading will be directed by Pamela Hunt with musical direction by Ted Kociolek. Based on Edith Wharton's classic novel, the production features music by Ted Kociolek with book and lyrics by Walter Holland and Kociolek.
The show, returning to the York in an encore presentation with new material, depicts the dangerous and forbidden romance between Old New York socialite Newland Archer and Countess Olenska, the mysterious, European cousin of Newland's proper fiancée.
La Llarona – The Mexican Medea will feature Venuz Delmar, Leilah Dione Ezra, Lina Gallegos, Anna Katherine Montgomery and Tamra Paselk. J. Esquea will direct the reading of the "musical drama," written by Hector Alienta. The musical is based on Euripedes' Greek tragedy Medea as filtered through the Hispanic legend of La Llarona ("The Weeping Woman"). La Llarona is a Xochil Indian who falls madly in love with a man of Spanish heritage and who is driven to madness and murder by the Xochil River.
