News Blessing's Eleemosynary Opens at L.A.'s Colony LOS ANGELES -- The Colony Studio Theatre's next Second Stage offering will be Lee Blessing's Eleemosynary. It is the intimate story of three women living up to the expectations of others--as well as each other. They are Dorothea, a free-spirited grandmother; Artie, her conservative daughter; and Artie's daughter Echo, who wins a high school spelling bee championship when she spells the word "eleemosynary" (meaning charitable).

LOS ANGELES -- The Colony Studio Theatre's next Second Stage offering will be Lee Blessing's Eleemosynary. It is the intimate story of three women living up to the expectations of others--as well as each other. They are Dorothea, a free-spirited grandmother; Artie, her conservative daughter; and Artie's daughter Echo, who wins a high school spelling bee championship when she spells the word "eleemosynary" (meaning charitable). Carol Newell directs a cast that includes Marnie Andrews, Nancy Learmouth and Courtney Saladino.

Opening night is Tues. May 26 and the show will play Mon. & Tues. at 8 PM; Sat. at 2 PM; Sun. at 7 PM through July 11. The Colony is at l944 Riverside Drive. Call (213) 665-3011.
