A four-block-long line with hundreds of people awaited the June 21 opening of the box office for the Hamilton sit-down production coming to Chicago's PrivateBank Theatre this fall.

Fans reportedly began lining up Monday evening and stayed all night to get a good position.

Single tickets for the upcoming Chicago production of the Tony-winning musical go on sale to the public at 10 AM CT (11 AM ET). Group ticket sales have been underway since January.

Appropriately-named fan Jake Hamilton tweeted this video of the line:

Starting previews September 27, the production is scheduled to play a six-month stand there through March 19, 2017.

Tickets are available at The PrivateBank Theatre (now Bank of America) at 18 W. Monroe Street, the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line (800-775-2000) and online at TicketMaster. There is a maximum purchase limit of six tickets per household. Tickets range $65-$180 for regular performances with select number of premium seats available for all performances and some increased pricing during the holidays. There will be a day-of-show drawing for 44 seats priced at $10 for all performances in the first two rows and boxes of the theatre (a few exceptions will apply).

Producer Jeffrey Seller added this caveat, based on hard experience with the New York production: “It's tempting to get tickets any way you can. There are many sites and people that are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases should be made through authorized Broadway In Chicago outlets.”

This will be the first mounting of the show outside the New York City original. A touring company and a London production are also in the works.

Lin-Manuel Miranda posted the following special greeting for Chicago fans on social media:

The new musical by Tony Award-winning In the Heights star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda explores the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Inspired by the book Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, the musical incorporates historical figures such as George Washington, Aaron Burr, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.

Hamilton began performances on Broadway July 13, 2015. It opened to critical raves August 6. The new musical is produced by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman and The Public Theater.
