News Blonde's Bundy Celebrates CD Release with Birdland Concerts July 23 and 30 Tony-nominated star of Legally Blonde, Laura Bell Bundy, will celebrate the release of her debut solo album, "Longing for a Place Already Gone," with concerts at Birdland July 23 and 30.

Hailing from Kentucky, Bundy counts among her influences some of country music's greatest, including Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash. The album finds Bundy returning to her roots with a collection of country covers and originals co-written with Larson Paine. Bundy describes the album as "a journey with sense of humor, fun, point of view and heartache. A song for every mood."

The Birdland concerts featuring Bundy performing songs from the CD will be presented at 7PM. There is a $25 cover and $10 food-drink minimum.

Laura Bell Bundy was Tony-nominated for her portrayal of Elle Woods in the new musical Legally Blonde. She created the role of Amber von Tussle in the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning musical Hairspray. Also a standby for Kristin Chenoweth's Glinda in Wicked, Bundy received Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations for her performance as Tina Denmark in Off Broadway's Ruthless. On screen Bundy has been seen in "Guiding Light," "Jumanji," "Life with Mikey," "Adventures of Huck Finn," "Home Improvement," "Strangers with Candy" and "Curtis Court."
