On Jan. 24, from 10 AM-3 PM, open auditions will be held for replacements in Off-Broadway's smash performance art show, Blue Man Group. Initially, creators Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton did 1,000 straight performances as the trio before taking a break and selecting new cast members Chris Bowen, Jeffrey Doornbos, Andrew Miller, Randall Jaynes, Michael Dahlen, Steve White, Brian Scott, Shawn Sturnick, Kristian Thorsen, James Ludwig, Pete Simpson and others. You have a chance to add your name to this roll call if you're between 5'10 and 6'1", and have solid acting and drumming skills.

Because the Blue Men function as a unit, cast members need to be similar in size and weight, though gender and race are not factors in casting.

After impressing Lincoln Center's Serious Fun Festival, Blue Man Group - Tubes opened at the Astor Place Theatre in November, 1991. The show continues in an open run there, while a Boston company that opened Oct. 1995, and a Chicago company that opened in 1997, also enjoy open engagements.

The Astor Place Theatre is at 434 Lafayette Street, opposite the Public Theatre near Manhattan's East Village. For tickets and information to the show itself, call (212) 307 4100.
