Singer/songwriter Bobby Daye (Smokey Joe's Cafe) will perform original music with guest Broadway artists including Tony Award winner Lillias White, B.J. Crosby and Christiane Noll Aug. 2 at the China Club.
Daye has performed in such shows as Dreamgirls, La Cage Aux Folles and The Wiz starring Stephanie Mills, as well as being a nine-time male vocalist winner on Ed McMahon1s Star Search.
Others joining Daye include Mark Kudisch (High Society), Brenda Braxton (Smokey Joes Cafe), Nikki Rene (Once On This Island), Carla Renata Williams (The Life) and recording artist Billy Porter.
Tickets are $20 plus a two drink minimum. All proceeds will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Leukemia Society of America. Reservations can be made by calling (212)398-3800. The China Club is located at 268 West 47th Street.
Future plans for the China Club Broadway Series include Brian d'Arcy James and Titanic cast members on August 9, B.J. Crosby, and Craig Schulman (Les Miserables).
