Entitled "Quarterlife Crisis," the romantic comedy began shooting in Manhattan April 15 and is expected to continue through May 10. The film — directed by Kiran Merchant — also features Maulik Pancholy and Debargo Sanyal. Rehana Mirza wrote the screenplay. "Quarterlife Crisis," according to production notes, concerns "a group of South Asian American friends looking for love in all the wrong places." It is expected to hit the film festival circuit in 2006.
Manu Narayan earned a 2004 Drama League Award nomination for his performance in Bombay Dreams. He also appeared in Fucking A at the Public Theater, and his screen credits include "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "The Sopranos."
