SEATTLE- Kerouac, Ginsberg and Burroughs, the three dominant figures of the beat generation are theatricalized in The Beat At Book It opening Apr. 10. Director Susanna Wilson's cast, all of whom portray multiple roles, features David Klein, J. Bretton Truett, Kymberli Colbourne, Erin McGaughan and George Mount.
The theatre has been transformed into a 50's poetry coffee house for the production, and their is a live jazz combo, and an open mike for audience members with two minutes' worth of work.
The Beat at Book It runs Apr. 10-May 1, Fri-Sat at 8 PM and Sun at 7 PM, at the Book It Repertory Theatre, 1219 Westlake Ave N. For tickets ($9-13) call (206) 216-0833.
