Variety reports that the Peacock network and Will Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Prods. have made a deal with actor-writer Gad to pen a "high-concept comedy about a family on the road" for Universal Television.

Executive producers of the series will be Sanchez's Adam McKay and Owen Burke.

Gad, who is a correspondent on “The Daily Show With John Stewart," has also been seen on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His other theatrical credits include All in the Timing, The Skin of Our Teeth and A One Man Show With Other People.

Gad, according to the industry paper, will also be seen in the upcoming motion picture "Thanks for Sharing," which also features Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins.
