At 11 AM, the Broadway favorite will read excerpts from her latest tome and will also autograph copies of the Blue Apple Books publication.
"Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever," according to press notes, "tells the story of friendship inspired by Peters’ work with shelter animals and her personal experience with animal adoption. 'Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever' is sure to please young readers, dog lovers, and anyone who has gone through the trials and tribulations of true friendship."
All of Peters’ proceeds from the sale of the book benefit Broadway Barks, the pet adoption charity she co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore to rescue animals in shelters and raise awareness about the beauty of adoption.

Prior to Follies, Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the revival of A Little Night Music. She received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed revival of Gypsy. Peters won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods.
She can also be seen in the new TV series "Mozart in the Jungle," which has been picked up for a second season.
