Peters will be joined by artist Ross Bleckner, who designed this year’s Broadway Barks poster and Playbill cover.

All proceeds from the sale of Peters' book, the Special Edition poster and Playbill benefit Barks, which the Broadway favorite co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is "dedicated to saving the lives of animals in shelters and raising awareness surrounding the beauty of adoption."

Broadway Barks will commence at 3:30 PM with celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters beginning at 5 PM. The afternoon will also feature a performance from Broadway's Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

"Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever," according to press notes, "tells the story of friendship inspired by Peters’ work with shelter animals and her personal experience with animal adoption. 'Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever' is sure to please young readers, dog lovers, and anyone who has gone through the trials and tribulations of true friendship."
