Two other Broadway favorites will return to the Boston Pops: Tony winner Mandy Patinkin and Tony nominee Liz Callaway. Patinkin will be part of the Fidelity Investments Young Artists Competition Night (June 7) and the 35th annual Presidents at Pops corporate fundraiser (June 8). Callaway will offer her tribute to Carole King June 9-10 with evenings titled Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook.
Also of interest to theatre fans is The Golden Age of Broadway, which will be presented June 15-16 with Keith Lockhart conducting the famed symphony orchestra. Vocalists include Broadway couple and multiple Tony nominees Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley. Attendees can expect to hear tunes from The Sound of Music, Carousel, Cabaret and more.
A Gershwin Celebration will be presented May 18-19 featuring conductor David Charles Abell. Vocalists will include Nicole Cabell and Nmon Ford with Charlie Albright on piano. Abell will lead the Pops in some of George Gershwin's most beloved works, including the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" as well as music from Porgy and Bess and Gershwin's Broadway musicals.
