On June 13 Creel will take to the stage of the intimate theatre, offering a mix of acoustic pop with an R&B/funk flavor. The young actor, a Tony nominee for his work in Thoroughly Modern Millie, will be joined on stage by David Cook, Robbie Roth, Adam Roberts and John Clancy. Show times are 8 and 11 PM. Creel's concert is part of the Ars Nova's new series "Uncharted," which "sets out to cover a wide range of styles while providing music lovers and industry taste-makers an introduction to exciting new music."
Gavin Creel portrayed Hollis Bessemer in Sondheim and John Weidman's Bounce. He starred as Jimmy in the Tony-winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and was also seen in the City Center Encores! mounting of Hair and the Off-Broadway production of Bat Boy. His other theatrical credits include Honk!, Fame and the workshops of Spring Awakening, Hairspray and Wicked. He was also recently seen in the TV film "Eloise at the Plaza."
