Tickets for the American premiere of Adventure in Motion Pictures' production of Matthew Bourne's Cinderella are now on sale at the Ahmanson Theatre. Cinderella opens April 7, 1999 and plays through May 23.
This exclusive U.S. engagement reunites the creators of the multi-award winning Swan Lake, presented at the Ahmanson in 1997, where it was given the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Bourne's Outstanding Choreography. (The show is currently enjoying rave reviews and strong houses on Broadway.)
"Using the unique dance language that has made AMP Britain's most innovative and popular dance/theatre company, Cinderella takes us on a thrilling and evocative journey through war-torn London," said a company spokesperson. "It tells the classic story of a young girl, her jealous stepmother, rival siblings and a guardian angel."
The score is by Sergei Prokofiev, with set & costumes by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Rick Fisher.
Produced by Katharine Dore, Cinderella will feature Adam Cooper (the sensation of Swan Lake), Scott Ambler, William Kemp, Isabel Mortimer, Emily Piercy, Arthur Pita, Ewan Wardrop, Ben Wright and a company of thirty dancer/actors. Call (213) 628-2772. Tickets may also be purchased at ETM ticket machines in selected malls and Pavilions markets. Visit web site TaperAhmanson.com.
