News Bowden and Goodwin to Star in A True Story Reading A by-invitation-only reading of A True Story: Based on Things That Never Actually Happened . . . And Some That Did will be presented Nov. 12 at the June Havoc Theatre in Manhattan.

Directed by Adam Karsten, the cast will feature Katrina Bowden ("30 Rock") and Malcolm Goodwin ("American Gangster") as well as Cameron Fife and Tyler McGee. The reading will begin at 7:30 PM. A True Story, according to press notes, "follows two young L.A. roommates, Mike and Matt, who own nothing and share everything, including their life's work, a screenplay which seems to be their only escape from the harsh reality that is the Hollywood machine. Mike and Matt's friendship is put to the test as they fight to maintain their integrity amongst Hollywood's biggest temptations; money, greed, and ex-girlfriends. Fast, quick-witted and realistic dialog drive this moving piece about the human condition in an in-humane town."

The play was penned by Fife and Tyler McGee. In a statement writer-producer Fife said, "The production had a successful, extended, run in Los Angeles, and we are currently raising the remaining funds to stage a new Off-Broadway production." Director Karsten added, "The play delivers an enormous variety of comedy, wit, and realistic dialogue — that appeals to a large audience and clientele. It is edgy and current, and conveys absolutely no message, other than the fact that two guys can remain friends when confronted with poverty, hopelessness, and love coming in between them."

The June Havoc Theater is located in the Abingdon Theater Complex at 312 West 36th Street on the first floor.
