News Box Office for Ontario's 2007 Shaw Festival Opens Jan. 2 The Shaw Festival box office in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, will open Jan. 2, 2007, to accept fax, online and mail orders from the general public for the 2007 season.

Telephone and in-person sales begin on Jan. 6.

The box office has been open to members of the Shaw Festival since Nov. 11. Since then, 50,000 tickets have been sold, primarily to members.

"Response from our members to the 2007 season's playbill has been tremendous with advance ticket sales exceeding this time last year," stated executive director Colleen Blake. "We're certain that our committed patrons, as well as newcomers to The Shaw, will respond with equal excitement and enthusiasm."

The three-venue Shaw Festival's 2007 season includes Saint Joan, Mack and Mabel, Hotel Peccadillo, The Circle, The Philanderer, Summer and Smoke, A Month in the Country: After Turgenev, The Cassilis Engagement: A Mother's Comedy, Tristan and The Kiltartan Comedies as well as the Reading Series and a variety of enrichment activities including workshops and seminars.

New this season are Fab Fridays, which include a gourmet picnic dinner in the gardens at the Festival Theatre, wine tastings, and a Shaw Festival performance.
