News Boys in the Band Reading at LGBT Community Center to Feature Broadway Talent Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band will get a one-night-only revival at New York's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center on July 30.

Actors from several Broadway productions will take part in the staged reading, including A Chorus Line's Mike Cannon, Joey Dudding, James T. Lane, Paul McGill and Grant Turner; Beauty and the Beast's Christopher DeAngelis and James Patterson; and Spelling Bee's Stanley Bahorek. Mamma Mia's Frankie James Grande, winner of Mr. Broadway 2007, will host the evening. The Boys in the Band is directed by Hector Lugo with choreography by Josh Walden. Crowley's play is about a group of gay men who hire a hustler as a birthday present for their friend but wind up spending the night of the party airing their pleasures and miseries. The Boys in the Band is considered one of the first plays to deal openly with contemporary life among homosexuals.
