Show folk, being show folk, respond to crises by putting on shows, and Paper Mill is no exception. Stars will descend on Paper Mill 7:30 PM Oct. 4 for a benefit called "The Floyd Follies Flood Relief Fundraiser," which will put money in the coffers of the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance.

VIP tickets are $100, with other seats ranging $25-$99. Auctions and special events will be part of the evening.

Among those performing in the "Follies," coordinated by artistic director Robert Johanson (and thought up by executive producer Angelo Del Rossi) are Paper Mill alums Laura Benanti, Eddie Bracken,James Brennan, Robert Cuccioli, Philip Hernandez, Mark Jacoby, Judy Kaye, Judy McLane, Susan Speidel, K.T. Sullivan, Jim and Bob Walton, the cast of Mame, opera star Jerome Hines, and many more.

The Paper Mill Playhouse, which sits beside a brook that is part of the Rahway River, had some flood damage (water in the pit, and in the first few rows), but the show went on Oct. 17, the day after Floyd hit. Two Paper Mill performance of Mame were canceled the day of the big storm, Oct. 16. Patrons have been rescheduled into later performances. For information about the benefit, call (973) 376-4343.
