News   Brad Oscar Featured in New Musical By Bat Boy's Laurence O'Keefe
Brad Oscar — of The Producers fame — will take part in the TheatreworksUSA presentation of the new musical comedy Cam Jansen.

The two by-invitation-only performances of the musical — based on the best-selling David A. Adler books — will be presented March 18. The musical is expected to world premiere in Manhattan in fall 2004.

Cam Jansen features music by Bat Boy's Laurence O'Keefe, a book by Kleban Award winner Nell Benjamin and lyrics by both husband-and-wife O'Keefe and Benjamin. Brad Oscar, who received a Tony nomination for his performance in The Producers, will be joined onstage by Nine's Farah Alvin, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change's Kevin Pariseau with Kate Wetherhead as Cam Jansen. The cast also includes Jill Abramovitz and Miguel Cervantes.

According to production notes, the musical concerns "a 10-year-old super sleuth who uses her photographic memory to solve mysteries." Gordon Greenberg will direct the developmental production with choreography by Jody Ripplingler and musical direction by Vadim Feichtner.
