News Branagh, Atkins and Democracy Nominated for Evening Standard Awards The Olivier Awards may be more famous—probably because of the great thesp’s name attached—but the most respected awards within the London theatre trade are probably the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. And this year’s nominations are just out, with the National Theatre dominating – a testament to the overwhelming success of Nicholas Hytner’s first season in charge (though there’s a nod for his predecessor Trevor Nunn’s production of Anything Goes).
