Signature Theatre has announced casting for the world premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ newest work, Everybody, to be directed by Lila Neugebauer. The play is billed as a “modern riff on the 15th Century morality play Everyman,“ and at each performance, the role of Everybody will be chosen amongst the cast by lottery.

The cast of Everybody will be made up of Jocelyn Bioh (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Obie Award-winner Brooke Bloom (Cloud Nine), Michael Braun (The Crucible), Obie Award-winner Marylouise Burke (Sideways), Louis Cancelmi (Blasted), Lilyana Tiare Cornell (Les Misérables), Obie Award-winner David Patrick Kelly (Thérèse Raquin), Lakisha Michelle May (Boardwalk Empire), and Chris Perfetti (Cloud Nine).

Everybody is scheduled to run January 31–March 12 with a February 21 opening night. Performances will be in the The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

The creative team will be made up of Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), Matt Frey (lighting design), and Brandon Wolcott (sound design). Amanda Spooner is the production stage manager. Casting by Telsey + Company.

Jacobs-Jenkins’, who was a 2016 MacArthur Fellow and the recipient of numerous prizes, is a resident playwright at the Signature Theatre.
