Entitled Fucking Hipsters!, performances begin Sept. 27 at 8 PM at Signature Theatre's Peter Norton Space.

The cast comprises Brandon Wardell (Catch Me If You Can), Heather Robb (of The Spring Standards), Emily Borromeo (I'll Be Damned), Jennifer Bowles (American Idiot), F. Michael Haynie (Band Geeks!), Kyle Lamar Mitchell (Winner Take All), Luke Smith and singer-songwriter Jeff Tuohy.

Hipsters! features a book by Keythe Farley, music by Lori Scarlett and John Ballinger and lyrics by Scarlett.

The new musical, according to press notes, "is a post-ironic look at the hipster culture of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, an enclave of 'navel-gazing, skinny jean-wearing, self-consciously quirky consumers of obscure indie rock.' The story follows Lars, the lead singer for the indie band Mark Twain's Moustache. Lars is the hipster king. He lives in a loft with his band-mates; he’s honest, loyal... and he brews his own beer. When Lars meets Josie Harvey one night after a show, he falls madly in love with her. And who wouldn’t? Josie is charming, sexy and funny, plus she’s on the list for all the best shows. But bad luck follows Josie: her loft is infested with termites, her abusive ex-boyfriend drained her bank account, and when she moves in with Lars, she threatens to destroy everything the band has worked for. Will the Moustache survive? Will Josie?"

The production also features scenic design by Beowulf Borritt, projection design by Aaron Rhyne, costumes by Ann Closs-Farley, lighting design by Jason Lyons, fight direction by Rick Sordelet and casting by Michael Cassara.

Signature Theatre's The Peter Norton Space is located in Manhattan at 555 West 42nd Street. For more information visit http://effinghipstersmusical.com/home.html.
