The Bravo Network will be announcing two “new and original” theatre program formats on April 17. Details are not being released until April 17, when Audra McDonald (Master Class, Sweeney Todd, Marie Christine, Disney’s “Annie,” HBO’s “Wit”) and Lea Thompson (Cabaret, “Caroline in the City,” “Howard the Duck”) join representatives from the Bravo Network to launch the “major national arts initiative and new theatrical television programming” on the network.
This much is known: Bravo will announce two new program formats. One is a more conventional theatre based program and the other features a grass roots element aimed at the broad theatre community.
Bravo president Kathleen Dore, executive vice president-affiliate sales and marketing Gregg Hill, senior vice president-programming and production Frances Berwick, senior vice president-marketing Caroline Bock and television producer John Schreiber will be on hand for the 9:30 AM announcement on April 17. Together, McDonald, Thompson and the various Bravo executives will announce the full scope of the new Bravo programming at a press conference at District restaurant, at The Muse Hotel, located at 130 W. 46 St.
