News Brenda Vaccaro Will Replace Valerie Harper in Nice Work Oscar nominee Brenda Vaccaro will replace Emmy-winning actress Valerie Harper in the role of Millicent Winter in the Ogunquit Playhouse's production of Nice Work If You Can Get It beginning Aug. 4 and continuing through the end of the run on Aug. 15.

Harper continues to rest after falling ill July 29.

“Valerie is feeling great right now and we want her to continue to rest and to enjoy her family. After discussing with them, we decided that we wanted to relieve her of any pressure of having to return to the show, which only runs for two more weeks. With Valerie’s blessing, the Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to announce that Brenda Vaccaro, star of film, television and stage, has arrived in Ogunquit to take over the role of Millicent Winter,” stated executive artistic Director Bradford Kenney.

Vaccaro has received an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, the People’s Choice Award and the Theater World Award. In addition, she has been honored with two Academy Award nominations, five Tony Award nominations and numerous Emmy Award nominations.

Nice Work If You Can Get It stars Emmy Award and Golden Globe-winning actress Sally Struthers as prohibitionist Duchess Estonia Dulworth, along with Joey Sorge as Jimmy Winter and Amanda Lea LaVergne as Billie Bendix and with James Beaman as Cookie McGee. The Ogunquit Playhouse production is directed by Larry Raben, with Peggy Hickey as choreographer and Charlie Reuter as musical director.
