News Bret Shuford Steps Into Jeremy Kushnier’s Role in Broadway's Paramour The singing actor is taking a brief hiatus to film a new motion picture.

Bret Shuford steps into the role of AJ Golden July 10 in Cirque Du Soleil’s debut Broadway outing, Paramour, while Jeremy Kushnier takes two weeks to shoot a new feature film.

Kushnier will be out of the production at The Lyric Theatre through July 24 to film The Idea of Manhood, the debut motion picture from his brother, writer/director Serge Kushnier. The movie tells the story of “two old friends who unexpectedly spend a day together and end up debating each other's shortcomings,” according to press notes. “The conversation and day go places neither of them predicted.”

Fellow cast member and understudy Shuford's Broadway credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Amazing Grace. He can also be seen in the film The Wolf of Wall Street and the web series Submissions Only.

Paramour, according to the show's producers, “spins the thrilling tale of a beautiful young actress forced to choose between love and art in the glamorous world of Golden Age Hollywood. Featuring eye-popping acrobatics and sumptuous music and dance, [the production] is a groundbreaking new event that transports you to a sublime world of emotion and awe as it walks the exhilarating tightrope of the heart.”

The cast includes a company of Broadway actors, dancers and renowned aerialists, acrobats and circus arts performers covering the disciplines of aerial strap artists, Chinese pole, contortion, juggling, Russian beam, teeterboard, tumbling, trampoline, trapeze and many others.
