Jennifer Tarver, who directed Dennehy in Krapp's Last Tape at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and at Chicago's Goodman Theatre,  again stages the monologue that will run through Dec. 18 on Long Wharf's Stage II.

(Krapp's Last Tape was originally announced as a double bill with Eugene O'Neill's Hughie as the season opener of Long Wharf's 2008 season, but the production was postponed, and only Hughie was offered.)

According to Long Wharf, "In the twilight of his life, Krapp—alone now except for his memories — relives the moment years before when he glimpsed a chance at happiness. Samuel Beckett’s haunting monologue meditates on time’s passage, loves lost, and the rituals that both comfort and imprison us."

Dennehy is a two-time Tony Award winner for his performances in Death of a Salesman and Long Day's Journey Into Night. His Broadway appearances also include Desire Under the Elms, Inherit the Wind and Translations. He also appeared in the Public Theater production of Richard Nelson's Conversations in Tusculum and the Stratford production of Twelfth Night.
